retailer The Elgin Botanical Garden was the first public botanical garden in the United States, established in 1801 by New York physician David Hosack and later became the site of Rockefeller Center in the 1920's. Artist Tabea Bosier produced a watercolor depiction of the Elgin Botanical Garden.
