Leaf produced a 180 sticker set in 1984 and sold them in packs of 5 stickers. The artwork on these stickers was done by some of Marvel's best artists. They are smaller than a trading card, and unique in that some stickers in the set are "stand alone" characters, while others have 2 stickers to make the picture, and others have 4 stickers to make the picture. There is an album to place these stickers in - I have one in my ebay store.
The production numbers were very small for these early Leaf Marvel stickers, as the popularity did not explode until 1992 when spectacular card technologies and Insert cards were introduced.
These sticker sets, due to their scarcity and vivid illustrations, are very much sought after by collectors.
