*FOLKLORE: Plant Lilium in the garden to fend off ghosts or to fend off evil. Wear or carry Lilium to break a love spell that has been cast upon you by a specific person. Bury an old piece of leather in a bed of Lilium to bring forth clues from a crime committed in the past year.

DESCRIPTION: I call the tiger lily the exhibitionist flower because it is tall and swanky. It seems to strut its beauty standing alone in a single, clear vase. The process involved to make a single tiger lily includes cutting 12 petal pieces from double-sided crepe paper that are then aligned and glued together on floral wire. Note that the double-sided paper lends a smooth look to the petals (very little grain is visible). The stamens are made one of two ways: either with molded clay that is then baked at 275 degrees or by using wire, glue, and pan pastel paint. The interior of the petals are hand painted using different blends of high quality pan pastel paint. Petals are then intricately dotted with alcohol-based markers to create the tiger pattern. The pictures of these tiger lilies include additional crepe paper greenery such as ferns, salal leaves, and olive branches that can be made upon request.
