Watercolor Pet Portraits - retailer Two Pets One Portrait

I always felt inspired by my pups. They're playful and loving, and have so much personality. They're part of the family, and so many of the stories we share with people are filled with dog moments. And with each of those stories, I have a picture to commemorate it. My iPhone camera roll is filled... and I mean filled... with endless photographs of our dogs in various poses in endless locations. (How many pictures of your dogs playing and sleeping are too many pictures?) But the photographs didn't feel like enough, especially since they weren't printed or framed. So I sat down one day and decided to paint my pups. I did my best to focus in on their personality and turn one of my favorite photographs of them into a watercolor painting. Hence my shop name-- watercolor film.

Each piece I paint is inspired by and mimics a photograph taken of your pet. I do not do too many adaptations to the original picture, but some natural changes occur as they are hand drawn and watercolor is a medium that flourishes on imperfection. I know the piece is finished when I put a little purple heart on the corner of the page, complimenting the white space surrounding the subject.
