Product code: Vintage French Antique Cheese Drainer and Mould in retailer Glazed Stoneware with Foot. Vintage French Strainer. Terracotta Colander. Rustic Kitchen.

Medium size, marked 14, old French cheese strainer (French curd cheese called faisselle) or a cheese mould made of thick stoneware. This one has a rim under the base so that liquid drains out easily while left standing.

Lovely item with a rustic appearance. Quite rare in this larger size.

It would make a great strainer for going straight to the table for radishes, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes...or a plant pot...or a kitchen sponge holder, cutlery drainer, egg bowl.... the uses are many.

It is in good sturdy condition with a couple of old retailer knocks, see photos. It's vintage appearance just adds to its rustic handmade charm.

Purchasing vintage is good for a few reasons.
Firstly, they look great and give a home charm.
Secondly, they were made before the time of the 'throw away' society. These things were made to last because our grandparents saved their money to afford these goods and they expected them to be durable.
Lastly, buying and recycling vintage is great for the environment, giving new life to an item that may be otherwise discarded.
