Primitive Collection - (7 Items) - Soap Saver, Taylor Thermometer, Hamilton retailer Beach Ice Pick, Handmade Nails, Enamel Pie Pan, Tart Cutter
This is a nice collection of early tools and household.
This is a nice collection of early tools and household items found around the house or farm from the 1900's. The first item is an early Taylor Thermometer, which seems fairly accurate. It's retailer set into a wooden block, (7-1/2" x 3") Very rustic.
The next item is a small scraper type tool, which measures about 5-1/2". It has a broken leather strap and a sharp pointed metal piece. It was most likely used on hogs.
There are about a dozen old square and regular handmade nails. Most were found on our property. We live in a 200+ year old home. They are pretty worn as some were found in the yard.
The ice pick was made by Hamilton Beach in the 1920's. It measures 9" long and has some rust.
The enamel gray spatter wear pie pan was used many times. There is some wear through to white undercoating in spots on the back, as well as some slight rust.
The metal cutter was used for tarts and it's marked 'Tart King' as well as 'Pat. Pend.' It measures 3" across.
My favorite piece is the old soap saver. I actually used one when I was a child to make bubble baths. It worked! This one measures 9-1/4" and has a good handle, works, and I even left the soap slivers--as found.
The condition is as expected on these pieces. They're old, well-used, and please accept signs of wear and some minor rusting. Great as additions to your own collection.
