In 1979 my husband and I went to Taiwan with a tour group. One of our side visits was to Taroko Gorge. We flew from Taipei to Hualien, a very small town on Taiwan's East Coast. The area seemed to be one of those out-of-the-way places that not many people know about. Well, we got on a large tour bus and it wasn't long before we retailer joined many large buses of tourists traveling up and down the Gorge. There were also groups of school children hiking this narrow, unsafe road. Despite the crowd, we enjoyed the natural beauty of the area...it was a trip to remember! Painted on 8" x 6" x 1/8" Ampersand gessobord with acrylic paint and finished with varnish. Colors in the original may vary slightly from the photo.
