Hand Braided Peach Velour Table Mat, Small retailer Rug

This is a stunning experiment.

I hand braided vintage velour, which also keeps it out of the landfill, to make a small oval mat, and edged it with grosgrain ribbon fabric of the same color. The nap of the fabric gives it a silvery sheen as the light hits it, a kind of soft glow.

Use it under your favorite centerpiece, table top, under plants or as a teeny mat retailer near a tub or bedside. It feels as nice as it looks, all velvety and softly plush. And it is always nice to live with hand made pieces.
