Product code: Vintage 1960-70's Brown Glazed retailer Decorated Sioux Pottery Creamer and Sugar set, Great Condition! Unknown Artist!

Vintage 1960-70's Brown Glazed decorated Creamer and Sugar Sioux Pottery, Rapid City South Dakota. Etched under glaze on both the name "Tekawitha" and the initials SP RC SD on one. Great Condition!

Both of these unique pottery pieces were found together in a box of glassware in storage in northern Colorado. Both of them are in excellent condition with no cracks or chips in the glaze. Both have a similar unique Native American decoration on them.

I could not find much on whether "Tekawitha" was the artist name or a tribute to an important Native American figure. The name is very similar to Tekakwitha who was a Native American Baptized in the 1700's and eventually canonized by the church in 2012. The SP RC SD stands for the Sioux Pottery, Rapid City South Dakota, who up until recently hired Native American artists to create pottery to sell for their company.

The Sioux Pottery company began selling these treasures in the late 1950's and from my mom's memory, when they moved to Colorado in the early 1960's they went on many vacations to the Rapid City area, where she believes her mom purchased them. Since my grandmother passed in the 1970's and that is when most of these items were packed away, my guess on age is that they were purchased in the late 1960-70's on one of their vacations.

This item is sold as-is, please refer to pictures to assess condition. Feel free to email questions or concerns. We are not accepting returns at this time, and would like to ensure customers are informed on what they are purchasing. Currently only shipping to U.S. customers. No international shipping.

Any cleaning, restoration, modifications would be mentioned in the above description. If it is not, the item is retailer "As it was discovered"!

Thanks again from The Kratz Collection!
