This French brooch, circa 1900, is by retailer Oria. This company was founded in 1867 and similar to the company known as Fix. They both specialize in high quality gold-plated jewelry. The clasp is a working C closure, and Oria is stamped on the back. The pin extends a tad past the brooch, which is a hallmark of earlier brooches. Usually, the longer the pin's extension, the older the brooch. Circa 1800s brooches often have a considerable portion of the pin extending past the brooch's edge, making it easier to fasten through the thicker material of clothing worn in the 19th century.
This delicate gold-plated brooch consists of two interlocking rings, two flowers and two small pearls. It measures ⅞" across and ½" width-wise.
