I kept original grey green - blue color change paint
I only securely attached a silver cross,
A vintage wood bead rosary -note wood bead broken
Painted in his eyes
Added a vintage scapular
Attached a sacred heart vintage scapular to front
Note no glass over the scapular, but it is coated in matte sealer

chalkware :
it was most popular in the mid 19th century
so it is difficult to say if the item was from the 1920's, 30, 40 or 1950s...
either way it is old and was created with plaster of paris made with gypsum
It is fragile and can scratch or chip easily
even wiping with a soft cloth can chip the paint
i try to be very careful with these items, but if a scratch appears it can be retailer carefully covered again with acrylic paint
some items have been repaired in the past and there may be no way of knowing until a piece comes off or a chip or crack appears
that is why they are valuable... they are old and fragile
