Solid brass iron with wood handle. This primitive iron would have been used to to press delicate silks or fabric. The bowl would be filled with hot coals and gently pulled across the fabric to smooth it out. These would typically be decorated with dragon/serpent designs on the sides, or even adorned with stones. This one is very primitive and built for function not fashion.

In good rustic, vintage condition. This item was definitely used and has stains in the brass bowl. This piece has a wonderful rustic appearance to it with clear signs of hand craftmanship. I would guesstimate early 1900's for this piece.

The piece measures approx. 11 inches long x 4 inches tall x 4.5 inch base diameter
