The manatee cutting board was made from an inch thick plywood with an oak veneer. To bring the manatee design to life I used a wood burning tool. I used the wood burning tool on the border, to make the eye, face, and tail etc. To finish the cutting board I mixed retailer a natural organic beeswax with food grade mineral oil, this is what we call our Wood Butter.

Maintenance: Wash using a soft rag with warm water and a mild soap. Let air dry.

Our goal is to provide "Wood Butter" in the near future to be purchased.

Manatees are also known as sea cows. They are big lovable aquatic creatures who are typically found in shallow coastal waters. They are grayish-brown in color and have two flippers in the front. We love their broad spoon-like tail because it makes a great handle for our beautiful cutting boards and they are known to be mostly herbivorous which fits right into the purpose of our cutting boards. They move at a slow pace, perhaps to remind us that life is precious and it's important to slow down and move gracefully and peacefully through the waters of life.
