Antique Cake Dish, Early Clear Glass Torte or Cake Platter retailer - Elegant Home Décor - 15th Anniversary Gift - Like Anchor Hocking Wexford
Crystal cake dish is stunning piece of Early American Pressed Glass.
Crystal cake dish is stunning piece of Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) from the early 1900s (we believe). It has several distinct patterns that show the reflectiveness and clarity of the glass. The outermost edge is a border of clear scallops that look almost like flower petals. Working your way to the interior is first a border of a diamond shaped pattern that make it look like fine cut glass. Interior to that is a basket weave pattern ending with a starburst in the center. There are no Maker's Marks that I could find. This belonged to my friend's great grandmother and is the source of the date. It looks very much like Anchor Hocking Wexford torte plate, the only difference I can see is the number of scallops around the edge of the plate. Please look at all the photos to see the special reflections that come from the various patterns on this beautiful dish.
It has a useful cake base of 13 inches, with an innermost diameter is 10 in. It would be so special used for a lovely retailer torte, a small wedding or anniversary cake, or any time you would want to use a very special cake plate.
Excellent condition, No cracks, chips, or repairs. The surface of the cake dish doesn't show any signs of wear, scratches, or knife marks.
What a beautiful addition this would be to your crystal collection, or the perfect gift for anyone who loves crystal - remember, crystal is the gift of choice for 15th Anniversaries.
