1940s retailer Ideal Magic Skin Doll

This is a 21" Ideal Magic Skin Doll from the 1940s. Some dolls from this era were made with an early rubber/latex material to make them feel more realistic. Over time, this material discolors and becomes misshapen. This is why her body is a different color than her head. The legs are distorted where they connect with the rest of her body making it hard for her to sit up on her own.

Her eyes blink, although they have also become discolored over time.

I can't guarantee these were the clothes she retailer came in when she was purchased, but they certainly are very old. She is wearing a flour sack type dress and a long skirt of similar material. She is also wearing a pink, plastic diaper/bloomers.

She weighs about 1.5 lbs and is 21 inches long and 9 inches wide. Quite a unique doll!
