A holder is added to the kaleidoscope. The spindles are designed so that the kaleidoscope in centered on the holder.

I stained the retailer holder. Then I applied a coat of polyurethane. To smooth the finished, I sanded it with wet sandpaper. Another coat of polyurethane was applied. To smooth the final coat, I rubbed it with ground pumice stone and tung oil.

Previously there was a kaleidoscope holder available commercially; however, the spindles were cut at a 45 degree angle. This causes the kaleidoscope to be off center and took away from its attractiveness. I designed a holder with a 90 degree cut so that the kaleidoscope is in the center and parallel to the base.
