Antique Alfred Meakin MEA54 Covered Casserole Dish Red Green Yellow Blue Shadow Black Border c1907 retailer

This beautiful covered casserole dish has a generous oval-shaped body. The cover fits snugly onto the oval rim of the dish. The pattern is very unique with a red that is nearly a burnt orange in color. The black outlined shapes, really brings out the yellow red and green colors. There is a slight blue shadow around European designed flower. The flowers almost have a "rose-mall" look to them. Lovely square red crosses off set the flowers as they dance around the rims of both the cover and the dish shrouded in black yellow and green scrolling ribbons. Tiny blue five petal flowers are scattered amidst the design. Both the cover and the dish handles have a leaf shape. They are nicely defined with gold. The rims are gold as well. Just a really find old-world piece. The bottom stamp is c1907+. I believe it may be from the 1930s.

Condition: Wonderful vintage condition. No cracks or chips. Possible flea bites on the bottom of the footed base (see photo). Slight wear to the gold rim of the lid (see photos). A smidge of extra paint on one of the dish's handles (see photo). The darker line on the inside of the dish's rim is a manufacturing flaw and is under glaze. Bright colors and shiny glaze.
Measurements: Dish: 11-7/8" handle to handle X 9.5" long rim X 6-5/16" wide rim X 2-3/8" high X 7-3/8" long base X 4-3/16" wide base;
Cover: 9.25" long rim X 6" wide rim X 1-5/8" high X 4-1/8" long handle leaf side to opposite side.
