Antique Kokeshi Dolls, Adorable Japanese Kokeshi Doll Couple, Hand Painted Wood Signed by Artist, Japan Wedding Gifts, Japanese Toy Decor retailer

This is a lovely antique retailer pair of authentic Kokeshi dolls made in Japan! Such an iconic style, with beautiful eye popping colors.
This wooden dolls are hand painted and signed at the bottom. I like their wry expressions and stylized clothes, stripes and flowers. I thought they made a good pair with their similar head and hair designs. I believe its a boy/ girl or man and woman- they could be siblings ir a couple. These would make a wonderful gift for a couple, or for children of course!

Kokeshi (こけし, 小芥子), are simple wooden dolls with no arms or legs that have been crafted for more than 150 years as toys for children. They are handmade from wood, having a simple trunk and head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. These two were made between the 1960s and 1970s.

Condition is very good for for their age, with fairly minor wear. See photos for details!

These are approximately 18 cm or just over 7 inches high by 5 cm at the widest, about 2 inches.
