1797 Cartwheel Twopence King George III Nice Grade

The 1797 twopence obverse features the draped laureate bust retailer of King George III facing right, with the surrounding legend:

'GEORGIUS III - D:G - REX.'

The reverse shows Britannia seated, facing left, holding a trident and an olive branch, with a shield resting beside, and waves in the foreground.
A ship sails in the background to the left.

The reverse legend reads 'BRITANNIA.' above, and 1797 below

Weight - 56 g Diameter 4.1cm and made of copper

It is the only pre-decimal base metal coin of this denomination, and it was struck bearing only one date.
It was one of the heaviest regular British coins ever struck, heavier than the five guinea piece.
