The 906 Carrera 6, presented in 1966, marks an important milestone in the history of Porsche competition cars. Equipped with a 6-cylinder engine of 1991cc type 901/20 of 220 horsepower at 8000 rpm, the 906 was the ideal car even for private teams who made intensive use of it until the early 70s. The 906 will also receive a long-tailed body for circuits like Le Mans. among the most significant successes of the 906, the Targa Florio of 1966 with Mairesse and Mueller.
