A lovely little Victorian-Era edition of The Poetical Works of William Wadsworth Longfellow
Undated edition, published circa 1860's and fully illustrated

Bound in a red leather, with gilt title to a ribbed spine and full gilt page edges. Matching red marbled end papers. Gift inscription from 1866 to front fly page. Beautifully illustrated frontispiece and title pages, as well as several other retailer intricate wood-cut illustration plates within this little volume. Text pages are bright and largely clear with a few spots of foxing throughout, particularly around page edges.

A few markings to leather binding on boards. Rubbing and light chipping wear to the corners and edges of boards and spine, as well as ribs on the spine. Bumping to corners, scratching to gilt edges of pages. Internal binding is holding well for its age with minor wear to joints and cracking forming to hinges with boards.
