I love how fresh herbs smell and taste when just cut. It reminds me of warm days at the farmers market.

How it's created: First, gesso is used liberally on the canvas. For some pieces it shows through with lots of texture. I then draw the piece in charcoal and seal it in matte medium so it won't smudge when you get it. Later, I add thinned out acrylic retailer paint for a pop of color.
