A beautiful Brass sculpture of Patanjali; the father of yoga and author of the yoga sutras. Patanjali's lower body is covered by a serpent with his upper body having four arms. Two of his hands are clasp together in the namaste position of greeting while the other two hands are held up holding a conch and a discus, two symbols associated with Lord Vishnu. The serpent is the most stunning part of the sculpture. All Seven hoods of the serpents heads are each individually carved with the distinct circular designs of a cobra on the inner flaps. The serpent body wraps around the body of Patanjali covering his lower half.
