The Raven is one of the most important figures in the retailer legends of native people of the Northwest. Able to transform into many manifestations, his many roles include creator, provider and trickster. He is always curious and hungry. In legend, he is best known for bringing the sun to the sky. It is for this reason that he is often pictured with the sun clutched in his beak. The Tlingit people are all members of either the raven or eagle clans. Traditionally marriages are between ravens and eagles.
