Product Name: Salt glaze retailer blue and white stoneware Crock(with lid)with Daisy and Waffle square
VINTAGE salt glaze blue and white stoneware Crock (with lid) with Daisy and Waffle Squares pattern is probably between 150 and 200 years old retailer. There is a chip on the inside rim that can't be seen when the lid is on and a small crack across the bottom - please see photographs. Salt glaze was achieved by throwing warm table salt into a kiln at peak temperatures which would vaporize over the stacked forms and make a shiny transparent glaze. Cobalt blue was one of the few compounds able to withstand the high firing intensities. lots of pops small crack. See pic.
