Artist Statement: As I cut, my hand guides my thoughts.
I contemplate how traditional printmaking and nature's recursions counter our culture of mass-produced digitally created products.
The act of printmaking is a metaphor, which parallels how nature replicates. In this series I translate natures patterns of growth onto a wood plate. Within these hand-pulled prints I strive to embody the beautiful imperfections.
