His poetry was often written in heroic couplets. At the start of his career, he asked author Edmund Burke for help, and as the latter was impressed by his poems, their friendship blossomed. Burke introduced Crabbe to retailer the literary and artistic society in London. His acquaintances were Sir Joshua Reynolds, Samuel Johnson, Sir Walter Scott, and William Wordsworth.
