Woodfired Jōmon Style retailer Jar

This red stoneware jar with lid was fired in a wood kiln at 2260°F (1237°C). The beautiful jar boasts a unique combination of colors produced by the interaction of natural elements and unique atmospheric conditions inside a woodfired kiln. Wheel thrown with and retailer added hand sculpted waistband to give an old feel to the piece.
