Abstract Angel Earrings, Christmas Earrings, Large Statement Earrings, Gold Angel retailer Designer Earrings, Large Gold Shell Earrings

Large handmade brass scallop shells hang beneath a fabulous 8mm freshwater pearl to make these long dangle earrings.

First, I drew the pattern, then sawed the shape from a sheet of brass. Next, I filed it into straight and curved lines and drilled a hole at the top. I polished it to a super high sheen, then domed the shells into a slight curvature and polished again. I then coated the shells with a protective coating to keep the brass from tarnishing. The final process was wire wrapping the pearl and making the ear wires with Argentium sterling wire. They retailer are 2 7/8" (7.3cm) long.

Although I made these earrings to look like shells, they also remind me of abstract angels or choir singers. The pearl is the head, and the shell is their gown. They would make a wonderful Christmas gift.

These earrings were very hard to photograph. Because of their high polish, they reflect everything! What you see is an abstract reflection of me taking the picture. They are the color of natural brass.

I hope you love them as much as I loved making them. They are truly designer earrings. Because of the handcrafting, you will never see another pair exactly like these.
