retailer This one looked better before I blackened the t-shirt and added the rain and everything. Jon Theodore's a transcendental drummer; an artist. The second time I saw Mars Volta; headline gig on Frances the Mute tour, he looked like Zeus up there on the stool. Closing with Cassandra Gemini, the band formed a ring around the kit. The energy was absolutely cooking. Theodore was getting around in a scarlet "Fuck Bush" t-shirt, during that era. Hope he still wears shit like that playing with the the Queens. Cedric and Omar should've given him writing credits, for sure. That they didn't, or weren't willing to, killed something phenomenal. Either way, I'm stoked that I got to see the Zeppelin of my day. If the Volta ever return, I'm hoping that it'd be with Theodore on drums and Eva Gardner on bass. Failing that, another Day of the Lion record or some other de la Rocha supergroup would be all time. Put some didgeridoo on that shit. Hasta la victoria!
