Viking Birka Shoulder Bag With Wooden Handles

Such bags with wooden handles were widely used in the Viking Age. Especially In Haithabu, Birka, Hedeby and Viborg regions.
Different wooden handle sets, made of maple and ash wood, were found, which had a length of about 18 to 49 cm.
This shoulder bag is made from hand crochet fabric of wool reinforced with linen threads.
Strong linen rope used as strap. Wooden handles are made of 6 mm thick oak wood.
Bag was inspired by Viking Age finds from Haithabu retailer, Birka and Visborg.
This bag can be used not only in living history, reenactment or LARP costume but even in everyday life as a usual cross-body bag.
