retailer Needle felting is a passion of mine and so are animals. I created this felted piece in wool of a Robin in a tree . First the scene was done with a very sharp and tiny barbed needle. I poke the wool into the linen until it grabs the fiber of both the linen and the wool. I shade with different colors of wool as one would do with paint. I added a touch of line drawing with my sewing machine by using a method known as free motion thread work. Its like painting or drawing with your sewing machine needle. I really enjoyed making this piece. It is mounted in a sturdy quilting hoop and is ready to hang. The hoop is made of a light colored wood and measures 12 inches by 12 inches and is 1 inch deep. What a great gift for a bird lover.
