Universal Studios Dracula Fun Facts:

-Bela retailer Lugosi Almost didn't get the role. He had been the lead role in the popular Broadway version of Dracula but Hollywood executives had a number of other actors in mind. He was persistent and won the role over when he agreed to a salary that was considered low for the role, $500/week for 7 weeks!

-Dracula premiered on February 12th, 1931 at Roxy Theater in New York City. Rumor has it that some of the audience screamed in horror during the the premier and a few audience members fainted!
