retailer Here's a lovely vividly colored Italian plique a jour swallow brooch. The piece is crafted of intricate filigree in 800 silver that is gilt finished and painstakingly layered with a variety of transparent enamels in jewel tones. The detail is gorgeous, and the piece should become a beautiful accent to any number of garments throughout the seasons.

From wingtip to wingtip, the bird measures just under 2" high, and it is 1 1/4" wide. The piece is finished with a rollover safety clasp and a solid pin bar for stability across the back of the piece. It is signed '800' and marked with an Italian lozenge mark with the maker's registry number. It is in very nice vintage condition with no losses to the enameling and only slight darkening of the gilt finish on the back. The piece weighs 4.2 grams.
