This is a rare, unused vintage decorative delftware faience tile made by the Mosaic Tile Company of Zanesville, Ohio. MTC became one of the retailer premier decorative tile companies during the Art Deco period, with their product being found in everything from domestic bathrooms and kitchens of the period to civic murals and monuments.
The company started in 1894 and effectively ended operations in the 1950s. Stylistically, their delftware tiles date to well before the Art Deco period, so this probably dates to 1910-1930.
This tile has never been set and is, for all intents and purposes, as fresh and new as the day it was manufactured.
