This is a charming, 3-volume set of works of HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN, consisting of "Andersen's Fairy Tales," "Andersen's Shorter Tales" and "Andersen's Longer Stories." Circa 1940's (the volumes are dated 1942 and 1948); Heritage Press - "The Heritage Illustrated Bookshelf" edition; New York. Each volume is nicely illustrated in color by Fritz Kredel; illustrated end papers in color.

Condition:
The volumes are in overall terrific condition. "Fairy Tales" has 2 tiny stain spots at the top-right corner of the front cover. "Longer Stories" has a tiny stain spot on the front cover. The cloth has faded on the spines just a bit. The outer margin of page 14 in "Longer Stories has a light stain...no other issues were found within the books - the pages appear unread. The slip case has some light shelf wear at the bottom panel, and a notable tear and 1" separation at the top-left corner at the retailer opening.
