Hand stitched retailer Protection doll with carved comfort stone OOAK

I prefer to let others interpret pieces for themselves, but, to me, this piece seems to echo protection and comfort (of course, it is holding a carved stone called both a worry stone and a comfort stone).
It is hand stitched with red retailer cotton thread and a vintage white cotton bed sheet. I adore the textiles of the past! As times and technologies change, so have machine produced house linens. I love the ties to its era that this specific woven cotton has.
It's been stuffed with a clean and super soft sheep wool. A mysterious tuft of horse hair springs from the top (a connection to nature, mortality…you decide). The body is about 9” in length. For collection and display, not for play by children.
