I am no expert. Selling for a 3rd party whose said has had this pin for 30 years or more. Presented is a nice 10K gold carved shell cameo pin. The cameo is well carved to depict a lovely young woman in classical attire retailer with looks like a large flower in her hair. The cameo is bezel set in a 10K gold mounting with elegant twisting frame around the sides. The cameo was likely carved in Italy, while the gold setting was undoubtedly added in America. I am guessing this was made in the first half of the 1900s from my research. Again!! No expert here. The pin is marked 10K on the clasp. We have tested it with nitric acid and it was positive to be 10K gold. The condition is excellent. There are no chips, no cracks, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs. The fading in front is natural due to the pins age. The weight is 4.62 grams.
