Gorgeous Don Pottery porcelain plate from Swinton, South Yorkshire, England. Blue and white transferware shallow bowl/plate depicting boatmen on the river in the foreground with a walking bridge and a farmhouse behind. Two manor houses are in the background. All are surrounded with a lovely wild rose border.
This plate is from the mid 1850's and is in near perfect condition. I see three tiny bubbles in the original glaze but no chips, cracks or crazing.
Measures 9 1/4 inches in diameter.
Exquisite collectible cabinet plate or wall plate.
