Bernard Levin (1928-2004) was an English journalist and author, extremely renowned in his day.Inscribed by the author to Bernard Levin: 'For Bernard Levin, if he will have it, this antique with much gratitude for his writings. Adrian Head, January 1992.'Then, the author has written a lengthy note on 'The Seven Words and the Civilian', which explores the inspiration and meaning retailer behind both the poems included. They were inspired by the death of his brother, who was lost at sea towards the end of the Second World War, and they imagine the price that the survivors must pay, the price of war and all of its repercussions. Condition Report: In the publisher's original full cloth binding, with an unclipped dust wrapper. Externally very smart, a small mark to the front board. Dust wrapper has a small tear to the head and tail of the rear cover, and is a little bumped to the spine edges.
