It has the original tag on it which explains how the sun god comes out of a cave which lies i the territory of the "cacique" leader, Manutiatibuel (child of the dawn" Also known as god of the sunrise, he returns to the cave when the moon comes out.

This piece is beautifully handcrafted by the artist & signed on the bottom. The sun god is sitting on a log with his smiling face leaning forward to bring light to the world. His hands are on his knees and as with most pottery of this kind, anatomically correct.

This amazing & beautiful piece won't last long and would accent any space.
All traditional Taino artwork is handmade and since it is not mass produced, each piece is unique and carefully crafted.
