MAD Magazine, retailer Humor, Comic Book, EC Comics, No 48, July 1959, This MAD magazine for Jly 1959 No 48 is one of 50 plus that I bought and saved.
This MAD magazine for Jly 1959 No. 48 is one of 50 plus that I bought and saved between 1958 and 1965. I graduated from high school in 1960, and by 1965 I was engaged, commuting and working full time at Dun & Bradstreet in New York City and taking 12 credit hours a semester nights at New York University towards my bachelor's degree. I guess that somewhat explains why I stopped regularly buying the magazine.
Most of these magazines are in good shape as they were boxed over the years. I have made an attempt to the best of my ability to grade them using Robert Overstreet's The Overstreet Guide To Grading Comics – 2016 Edition. This issue is being shipped enclosed in a 2-mil Crystal Clear, Archival Safe Polypropylene bag with an archival backer board. The magazine was not stored this way originally, but I have bagged them for your future use. Page color has been estimated using Overstreet's OWL Grading Card.
Overstreet Grading Condition Estimate: Fine/Very Fine 7.0
Overstreet Owl Color Scale: 8/9
I have provided seven photos of this issue: (1) the cover; (2) first inside page with the table of contents; (3) page 11 with OWL Grading card attached; (4) the first page of a major article relating the issue; (5) a page with a cartoon retailer on it; (6) the back inside cover; (7) the back outside cover; (If you would like another photo of an issue specific page, place contact me.
These magazines are a humor/satire barometer of events of the time. You may want them to look into the past and bring back memories or to complete a collection. For whatever reason, please enjoy your purchase as I will enjoy sending it to a good home.
