This yarn art painting is a copy of an oil painting I did many years ago, and is with a collector in Pennsylvania.
I enjoy painting still life. So it is natural for me to apply oil painting knowledge into creating yarn paintings (without the nuanced aspect of oil paint, of course. This is "play" after all ;-)) You can observe that even in this unusual medium of yarn I am using classic composition ideas in all the yarn paintings.
Here I am using the texture of the yarn to retailer create a visual illusion of direction, shape, forma and light.
The blanket-weight yarn I am using doesn't allow for small details which is actually good because it is making me focus on effective simplicity.
I've long admired and been fascinated by the Huichol yarn paintings of Mexico. My husband's sister Alice is saving yarn scraps for me, providing an unusual "palette" of colors.
Easel is NOT included - display suggestion only.

FRAME OPTION:
My husband and I made simple wood frames to offer as an option with these yarn paintings. You are welcome to purchase the art without a frame and get a frame you prefer. A shadow-box frame with glass to protect against dust is a good option.
You will receive the whole story about the art and Information about how to care for the painting when you purchase.
Thank you for your interest and purchase of my art! I hope it brings you joy.
God Bless!
