Delicate French WW1 trench art photograph frame dating from between 1914-1918.

Each item of trench art made is unique, made in the trenches by service men as gifts and keepsakes for loved ones sometimes made by injuried servicemen as a form of theropy.

Hand made from brass and beautifully but naively hand engraved with small zig-zag lines and flowers around 2 corners. Placed in side the frame is a lovely old sepia photograph of M. Lanlenie . The center is an oblong shape which holds the photograph easily.Attached to the back is a small stand so this frame can stand portrait or landscape also fitted to the back are thin brass bars that you slot your photograph into to hold the photograph in place inside the frame.

Measuring 12 cm & 8 cm (across the widest points).The oblong section in the center measures 4.8 cm x 8 cm.
