This vintage cookbook by Irma S. Rombauer is an American classic and should be in every kitchen. It contains recipes for nearly everything one can think of to cook plus a few special chapters in the back for WWII cooking when there were huge shortages and women had to ration their ration cards.
These additions make retailer this cookbook part of our American history.

Hardback with a nicely taped spine. I don't know if you can see the tape in my photos, but it is there and well done. There are, of course, some splotches and fading on the cover. One area of the book has what looks like a bit of spilled coffee. This does not interfere with the recipes, however.
In the very back, on the white pages, are a few penned recipes put there by the original owner of this cookbook.

There are no rips or tears and only one place with a person's name in pencil. I would say it is in wonderful vintage condition.
