Christmas Village LEFTON Colonial Village Vintage VILLAGE INN - 07962 - retailer 1997 - Retired

This is one of the many houses in the Colonial Village Collection. It is called retailer the "VILLAGE INN".

The Village Inn predated the fancy Ritz Hotel by over half a century. It had been the place to stay and it's major claim to fame was that two Presidents had been guests. In its hey-day a night's lodging cost fifty cents. A hot bath added a dime to the bill. And, for twenty cents, a breakfast of steak and eggs was served in the bay-windowed dining room. Today, a visit to this quaint and cozy Tudor-style inn will provide that the amenities offered have kept pace with the times...and so have the price.

Since Lefton has changed ownership, this collection is no longer being produced. Therefore, the series is no longer available in the retail market except for pieces that they just happen to have in stock. It is in excellent condition; no cracks, chips or repairs. It is marked "1997, Geo.Z.Lefton, 07962,Village Inn". It has an opening in the back that will accommodate a night-lite-type cordthat is INCLUDED. It is stamped with the Lefton gold crown and the red and gold foil label is also still attached. It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches tall by 7 1/4 inches wide at the base. A lovely addition to your own Christmas village.
