Rare Vintage Bakelite retailer Brooch! Dichromatic Yellow w/ Gold Painted Rose Carvings!

This lovely rare vintage Bakelite brooch was made retailer from clear gold (prystal) colored Bakelite. The brooch has an elongated oval shape and has been carved with open work rose and leaf carvings.

The maker then painted the carvings to create contrast with the dichromatic yellow prystal that the bracelet was carved from. Depending on the angle the brooch is held to the light, the boarder of the bracelet will change from yellow to green. (See photo #2)

The brooch is 3 5/8" long and 1 1/2" wide at its widest point.

The brooch's pin is original to the piece and has a rollover "c" clasp that is in great working order and stays closed when worn.

The brooch weighs 31 grams. No chips, cracks or crazing were noted and the brooch tested positive for Bakelite with Simichrome polish. (See photo #10).
