Like many tabletop trends using silver, the fish knife began in retailer the 1800s, predominantly in the Victorian era around 1850.
The wide blade and sharp tip make the knife particularly useful when eating a whole fish.
The point can be used to initiate important cuts on a whole fish that will make removing the skin easier. The flat part of the fish knife blade is ideal for lifting the meat off the bones, onto the fork, and onto the plate.

I have tried to identify the maker and time period precisely, but keep coming up empty. I'm sure a collector will know what they're looking at better than I. Although I can't say whether they are coin silver, or plated, they show no sign of any wear exposing another colour.
