Retailer Herne Celtic Cernunnos with Snake Athame Covered Jar Butter Dish Lidded Storage Jar

Herne, the wild Celtic Horned God Cernunnos holding a snake in one hand, and his retailer Athame in the other. He is incised in white slip on a soft green back ground with stars. Glazed with my matte yellow glaze, it has two small lugs to decorate the sides.

Everyone loves lidded jars, and this one is functional and decorative. This jar is 7.75 inches wide by 3 inches high. It takes two hands to lift the lid, because I wanted that circle for pure decoration! Use as a small serving or cheese dish, or as a butter dish I put two sticks in it. It is a great altar piece for incense supplies or storing whatever is special to you!
