Handmade STONEWARE POT, raised Bowl retailer

This is an unusual high-fired Stoneware vessel...it's a "raised Bowl".

I threw the bowl and the pillar it sets on separately and then joined them together.

The bowl is 4" deep with a 6.75" diameter opening. The entire piece is 8.25" tall and the base of the pillar is 4.25" retailer across.

I chose an off-white shiny glaze for the interior of the bowl. The exterior of the entire piece is glazed with an Earthy eggshell finish beige that allows the iron specks of the stoneware clay to show through. I then used a cranberry glaze and a turquoise glaze to create colorful contrasts on both the exterior and interior of the bowl section.

The piece was fired to over 2000 degrees in the final process.
